Star Sports (Formerly ESPN Star Sports) is one of the leading sports channels in India and the Indian subcontinent broadcasting live sports events and sports-related shows. Owned by Disney Star, an Indian subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. Star Sports was searching for a reliable systems integrator to assist migration of its existing facility to new improved broadcast infrastructure in Mumbai in short time prior to ICC World Cup 2015. After careful evaluation, RGB Broadcasting was chosen as the lead contractor for the project. As a solutions architect and technology consultant, RGBs scope of work included civil structuring and technology integration.
Star Sports approached us with a plan to expand, involving the construction of 11 new production studios and the migration of technology to Audio over IP, alongside infrastructure and the installation of new-age broadcast technology systems. Our engineers at RGB ensured the completion of the studio integration project, adhering to our core integration method. This included providing a scope of work covering Civil Structuring and Technology Integration, Product procurement, Project Management, Execution, and Delivery, as well as Studio Lighting and Design, all within 2,000 hours. We set the project deadline at 90 days, allowing sufficient time for testing and rehearsals as part of the transformation strategy.
Star Sports met their deadline smoothly, thanks to RGB's comprehensive resource pool fulfilling all their requirements. RGB's optimized project management approach ensured seamlessly deploying advanced technology solutions from production to playout. This included integrating existing vendor mapping structures with new technology solutions. RGB utilized top-notch technology products for graphics, IP audio automation systems, and post-production, such as VizRT, Grass Valley, Imagine, TSL, EVS, and Photon Beard. The success of this technology and transformation project is credited to our talented technocrats and artisans, who diligently completed the project on time.
